Need a magical night of music? Combine great musical memories with The Rescuers and the Anniversary Party of when the George Link Jr Gilmer Arts Playhouse opened their Premier Listening Room in Ellijay, GA. The Rescuers are so excited to be playing at the Playhouse to celebrate the 9th anniversary! The Rescuers were a band put together to play, quite appropriately, for an animal shelter fundraiser in middle Georgia – hence the name ‘The Rescuers’. All of the players in this band Gary gets to perform with are fantastic musicians, and many were heroes of Gary Wilder (our board president) growing up. Bob Walker (electric Guitar) and Al Scarborough (bass) of Stillwater, a middle Georgia band for the same label the Allman Brothers band recorded for (Capricorn Records) and who played his senior prom. They thought Stillwater were gods when he was in high school, and now he has the privilege of playing with some of them in the Rescuers! Tom Wilson (keys) and Earl Tribble (drums) are also middle Georgia musical staples he met through his friend, Markham White (electric guitar), also a middle Georgia and Atlanta-area musical staple who plays with Gary here in Ellijay. It’s going to be a great evening of music and celebration with some surprises as well. Get your tickets soon. Oh, and Pam says, yes – we will have cake!
