VA Meeting Room, Varina Area Library. Pinecone, or Pine Burr, quilts are created from folded triangles of fabric and layered in a concentric ring pattern that mimics the look of a pinecone. Karen Middleton will discuss the history and technique involved in making these hand sewn works of art and you'll have the chance to try your hand at a sample piece of your own. All instruction and supplies will be provided including sewing notions, cutting mats, rotary cutters, rulers and fabrics. Attendees are welcome to bring their own fabric and quilting tools.
