About this event
Experience one of cinema’s most iconic masterpieces as the Central Texas Philharmonic brings the 1925 silent film The Phantom of the Opera to life with a live orchestral performance. Starring the legendary Lon Chaney in his unforgettable portrayal of the mysterious Phantom, this landmark film combines romance, suspense, and gothic spectacle against the backdrop of the Paris Opera House. As the film unfolds on the big screen, the orchestra will perform the score live, creating an immersive experience that captures the magic of the silent-film era while showcasing the power of live symphonic music. From the Phantom’s shadowy lair beneath the opera house to the film’s dramatic and haunting climax, audiences will experience every moment with a depth and immediacy that only a live orchestra can provide. Whether you are discovering this classic for the first time or revisiting a beloved favorite, this special event offers a rare opportunity to experience a cinematic treasure as audiences might have enjoyed it a century ago.
