The Host

Celebrate 20 years of The Host, Bong Joon Ho’s wildly inventive creature feature that helped put South Korean cinema on the international map. When a monstrous creature emerges from Seoul’s Han River and snatches a young girl, her dysfunctional family takes matters into their own hands and discovers that the monster may be the least of their problems. Starring Song Kang-ho (Parasite), Bae Doona (The Doomsday Book), and a terrific ensemble, Director Bong’s knack for genre-mashing is on full display here: a delicious mix of creature feature chaos, pitch-black comedy, and razor-sharp satire aimed at environmental negligence and institutional incompetence. Don’t miss one of the 21st century’s best films on the big screen!
