The Great Refusal, a memory play, paints the portrait of an artist as a talented young woman who strives for recognition and self-realization amid an absurd and constricting family dynamic. TGR asks us what should we refuse (or not refuse) and what should we accept. This tragicomedy, intended for mature audiences (language, subject matter) takes place from 1987-1991 in Southern California, Portland, and Paris.
