Carlos Simon’s Fate Now Conquers responds to Beethoven’s iconic Seventh Symphony, weaving gospel roots with classical brilliance. Elgar’s haunting Cello Concerto, born from post-war grief, contrasts deep melancholy with flashes of resilience. Tchaikovsky’s autobiographical Fourth Symphony erupts with passion, its “fate” motif driving a journey from turmoil to euphoric triumph.
