A Book for Everyone with Hayley and John Rocco Free with admission A reading and conversation about finding the right book for the right reader with the Roccos. Hayley and John Rocco will read their latest book in the Piper Waterstone series, A Book For Everyone, followed by an inside look at the making of the book, the inspiration behind it, and the classic books that appear in the story. Susannah Richards will moderate. A book signing will follow the program in the great hall. Can’t make it? You may reserve signed books online. Who You’ll Meet Hayley & John Rocco Hayley Rocco is the author of many books for children, including All the Books and How to Send a Hug. She serves as an ambassador to Wild Tomorrow in South Africa and Defenders of Wildlife on Capitol Hill. Hayley lives in an old yellow house in the creaky woods of Rhode Island with her husband and collaborator, John Rocco. John Rocco is a #1 New York Times bestselling author and illustrator of many acclaimed books for children, including Blackout, recipient of the Caldecott Honor, and How We Got to the Moon, recipient of the Sibert Award Honor and a National Book Award for Young People’s Literature Longlist Selection. Author website Susannah Richards Susannah Richards is an associate professor of education at Eastern Connecticut State University where she teaches courses on literacy and literature for youth. She serves on state, local, and national book award committees including the 2013 Newbery Committee, the 2017 Geisel Committee, and recently chaired the 2025 Boston Globe/Horn Book Award. She loves connecting books and readers. She has a PhD in gifted education and uses that pedagogy to inform her choices about books that ignite, delight, and cultivate lifelong readers.
