About this event
Have a personal story that almost works? One that doesn’t quite land? Come to The Drop-In Story Lab, a 90-minute, drop-in storytelling session where we turn true and personal everyday moments into stories people want to hear. The Drop-In Story Lab is where stories get unstuck, cleaned up, and brought to life. Each month brings a new theme—and a chance to learn the essentials of great storytelling: what to include, what to cut, and why anyone should care. Sessions start with a lesson on what makes a story work with a focus on one or two elements. Then it’s your turn. You’ll have the chance to tell a true, personal story—5 minutes, or so—and get real-time feedback from the group. And not the awkward kind. Mary Roberts, founder of Side Porch Stories, will guide participants on how to listen well and respond in ways that make a story stronger—so whether you share or not, you’ll leave knowing what makes people lean in. Drop-in with a story. Or come find one.
