
The Delaware National Guard 287th Army Band
The mission of Army Bands is to provide music supporting unified land operations and instill in our forces the will to fight and win, foster the support of our citizens, and promote America’s interests at home and abroad. Army Bands serve as a combat multiplier and plays an integral part in the sustainment of forces engaged in unified land operations. Musical elements of the 287th Army Band include Ceremonial Band, NOLA Brass Band, Rock Band, Chamber Ensemble, Jazz Combo, and Concert Band.We are the band of the Delaware Army National Guard. Formed in 1921, we served in the Pacific Theater in WWII and abroad, most recently, in Germany. We offer various musical performance teams, to bring many varieties of music to our citizens. These include classical music with our woodwind quintet ensemble, as well as popular music, in addition to smooth jazz and a NOLA-style brass band. There is something for everyone. The 287th Army Band’s ceremonial and concert band offers such variety as well-known marches and Americana music, as well as popular tunes and some fun for everyone.
