Charles pioneered the soul music genre during the 1950s by combining elements of blues, jazz, rhythm and blues, and gospel into his music. He overcame his childhood blindness to become one of the greatest musicians of all times. Referred to as "a genius" by his fellow musician, his version of GEORGIA ON MY MIND is and will always remain a beloved classic and jazz inspiration.
