The Atlantics End of Summer Concert - Please join us as we sing, dance and tip our hats farewell to a gorgeous Bellingham Summer! A benefit for Brother Ray Middle School Bands Fund in Bellingham This past Spring marks 50 years since Paul Klein moved to Bellingham to play in a Dance band. They recorded a 45 of a song he wrote called No “Nukes is Good Nukes”, opposing Puget Power’s attempt to build a Nuclear Power Plant on the Skagit River just upstream of Mt Vernon. They were called Wet Paint and the Painter Sisters. Four Years later In 1980, Eddie and the Atlantics played their first gig on election night of Ronald Reagan in November of that year. Since the closing of Boundary Bay Brewery, Bucks, the Rainbow, Doc Maynard’s in Seattle, and The 1890’s in La Conner, The FireHouse has been The Atlantics new home in Bellingham. The band has opened for John Lee Hooker, Chubby Checker, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, and T-Bone Burnett. So Bring your dancing shoes, listen to some lively music and support a great cause!
