Things are about to get jammy at Vanishing West! Join Chef Aarika for a hands-on afternoon exploring the sweet, fruity (and sometimes spicy) world of homemade jams and jellies. Ever wondered what actually makes a jam a jam and a jelly a jelly? Chef Aarika will break it down while teaching you the techniques you need to make both at home, including the important sterilization process that goes into preparing your jars. Then it’s time to get cooking! Together, we'll make two jams and two jellies, featuring flavors inspired by late summer and maybe even a little Vanishing West cider: Apple Cider Jelly Hot Pepper Jelly Peach Basil Jam Mixed Berry Jam And because tasting is half the fun, we'll finish class gathered around a charcuterie board featuring jams and jellies prepared by Chef Aarika. Best of all, you won't leave empty-handed. You'll take home four 4 oz. jars, one of each jam and jelly made in class! No canning experience necessary. Just bring your curiosity and your appetite!
