In 2024, the library partnered with Philipstown Aging at Home to host The 1619 Project Book Club. This group reconvened to read and discuss James by Percival Everrett in February of 2025, James Baldwin’s Go Tell it on the Mountain in June of 2025, Between The World And Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates in September 2025, Black AF History: The Unwhitewashed Story of America by Michael Harriot in January 2026 and Four Hundred Souls by Ibram X. Kendi over the summer of 2026. Copies of the book will be available at the library front desk. About the Book Set in the contemporary Paris of American expatraites, liasons, and violence, a young man finds himself caught between desire and conventional morality.
