Five Sundays 2-4 PM September 20, 27, October 4, 11, and 18 Storytelling isn’t a talent. It’s a skill. And skills can be practiced. You tell stories all day long — at work, at dinner, in the group chat, in the car. Some land. Some… wander. This class is about getting good at it: building the muscles that make people lean in, no matter what you’re telling or who you’re telling it to. For four weeks we’ll play, practice, flop, laugh, and try again. You’ll build a toolkit you can use anywhere — on stage, in a meeting, at a wedding toast, at your next job interview. Then on week five, you get to take it all out for a spin in front of a live, invited audience. About the instructor Kat Koppett, the President and eponymous founder of Koppett, holds a B.F.A. in Drama from New York University and an M.A. in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University. In addition, Kat is a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach, and the co-director of The Mopco Improv Theatre. Her book Training to Imagine: Practical Improvisational Theatre Techniques to Enhance Creativity, Teamwork, Leadership, and Learning, now in its third edition, is considered a seminal work in the field of Applied Improv and is used by professionals around the world.
