✂️ Make your own zines at our monthly Teen Zine Club! ✂️ This is a chill space for you to get creative, express yourself, and hang out with new and returning zine makers. No prior knowledge or experience needed! For teens ages 12-18. 🗓️ Date: 3rd Wednesday of every month ⏰ Time: 3:00 - 5:00 PM 📍 125 14th St, 2nd Floor TeenZone, Oakland, CA 94612 This fall, our themed line-up includes: SEPTEMBER 16 - Embroidered Zines 🪡 It's National Sewing Month! Learn how to use needle and thread to add a 3D pop of color to your zines! OCTOBER 21 - Spooky Szn 👻 Celebrate all that's scary, creepy, and haunted! NOVEMBER 18 - Current Obsession 🤩 Whatever you stan, share it with us in a zine about your current obsessions! DECEMBER 16 - How-To ✏️ Whether it's crochet, surviving freshman year, or picking the perfect potato chip flavor - we want you to take us step-by-step and teach us how-to! We provide all the materials: all kinds of paper, pens/markers, magazines to cut up, folding tools, long arm stapler, paper trimmer, scanner, and free photocopying/printing. You'll also have the option to donate a copy of your zine to the Teen Zine Collection at the Main Library! Get accessibility information. ---- What's a zine? Pronounced "zeen," zines are DIY booklets made by collaging text and images together to share your niche interests and personal experiences through low-stakes creative self-expression. The best thing about zines is that anyone can make them – they're easy, cheap, and can explore literally any topic or theme. No rules, no filters, no algorithm – just pure pre-internet vibes, made by you because you love what you love.
