About this event

Estes Valley Community Center. Cooking & Culture invites tweens and teens to travel the world through food! Each session, participants will learn to prepare a dish from a different country while exploring the traditions, history, and cultural significance behind the cuisine. From popular street foods to family recipes, every program offers a new opportunity to expand culinary skills and discover the diverse flavors that connect people around the globe. Whether you're an experienced cook or trying something new for the first time, Cooking & Culture is a fun, hands-on way to build confidence in the kitchen, learn about different cultures, and enjoy delicious food together. Come hungry for both great food and new experiences! This month, Cooking & Culture takes us to Canada as we prepare a traditional Bannock Bread Breakfast! Participants will learn how to make bannock bread from scratch, fry eggs, and enjoy their meal with authentic Canadian maple syrup. Along the way, we'll explore bannock's history and cultural significance, its importance to many Indigenous communities, and how this simple bread has evolved over time. Nothing says cozy fall like fresh bread! Participants must be between the ages of 10-18.
