About this event
Not every song needs an 808. In this class, we explore the sounds behind Pop, Indie, and Alternative music — genres built on great songwriting, unique textures, and tracks that feel like they mean something. You will learn how to arrange music that goes beyond the beat, working with guitars, synths, layered vocals, and creative production techniques used by artists across the pop and alternative world. Whether your taste runs toward mainstream pop or something more underground and artistic, this class will help you find and build your own sound. Registration is required as space is limited. Attend the Teen Music Collective for music production instruction from industry professional Jalen Little. Teens create on the Fruity Loops Digital Audio Workstation (DAW). On Thursdays, we learn new topics and concepts. Saturdays are work days to collaborate. No experience necessary; this class is for both beginners and more advanced music producers.
