About this event
Teaching Effectiveness: Integrating Career Readiness into Your Course Presented by Amy Chatham, PhD A Center for Teaching and Learning event Description: In this interactive workshop, faculty will explore practical ways to integrate the NACE Career Readiness Competencies into existing course activities, assignments, and assessments. Participants will learn a clear, actionable approach for helping students develop the skills employers value while continuing to meet academic learning goals. This session will highlight both low-lift strategies that can be implemented with minimal course redesign and high-lift approaches, such as COIL projects, externships, and community- or industry-partnered learning experiences. Faculty will leave with concrete ideas and a framework for embedding career readiness into their courses. Please Note: This workshop is designed for current UAB teaching faculty, instructors of record, academic advisors, and other student-facing staff members. Graduate students and postdoctoral scholars are invited to attend the CTL LIFT series workshops instead. Total CTL Point Value: 10,000 pts.
