This beginner-friendly project introduces participants to the basics of machine sewing while creating a useful, lined fabric sunglasses case. Participants will learn how to safely operate a sewing machine, practice straight seams, and follow simple construction steps to turn fabric into a finished project they can take home. Bring your own sewing machine if you have one! There will be a limited number of machines to borrow. Get ready to discover that sewing doesn’t have to be intimidating—it just takes a little practice! About the instructor: Regina Dante is the founder of Crafting Resilience, a community-centered initiative that uses sewing and textile arts as tools for connection, self-expression, and mutual aid. Her work focuses on making creative skills accessible while fostering resilience through hands-on learning, storytelling, and repair.
