Good Counsel Hill, Mankato, MN 56001, USA. PURCHASE TICKETS HERE Haydn |Symphony No. 30 ‘Alleluia’ Purrington | Words of Departure Händel | Organ Concerto in F-minor Op. 4, No. 5 Haydn | Symphony No. 104 ‘London’ Light in Winter is a journey of reflection, renewal, and quiet radiance—music that carries us through darkness and into joy. In the intimate, candlelit beauty of Good Counsel Chapel, this program invites you to slow down, listen deeply, and be moved. From the uplifting brilliance of Haydn’s “Alleluia” Symphony to the rich, searching textures of Hilary Purrington’s Words of Departure for choir and orchestra, this concert traces the many paths we travel—letting go, looking inward, and finding our way forward. A sparkling organ concerto by Handel, featuring Celina Kobetitsch, adds elegance and light to the evening. The journey culminates in Haydn’s triumphant “London” Symphony. This is music full of energy, warmth, and arrival. Reflective. Radiant. Luminous. Step in from the cold. Stay for the light.
