Swing Dance 101

Most people don’t go to a dance class to learn to dance. They go because they want to be the kind of person who can. Swing Dance 101 is a weekly drop-in class for anyone who’s ever watched someone swing dance and thought — I want to do that. No partner needed, no experience required, and no pressure to be good at it on the first try. Or the second. Professor Jitterbug has been teaching for 25 years and has seen every level of beginner walk through that door. You are not the worst case scenario. You are exactly who this class is for. The format is simple: every class covers the foundations of vintage swing dancing — rhythm, movement, lead and follow, and the basic steps and stylings that make every swing style work. Partners rotate throughout, which means you’ll spend the hour meeting everyone in the room one dance at a time. No awkward introductions. No standing around. Just you, some music, and a new person to figure it out with. It’s a Tuesday night in Las Vegas. You could be doing a lot of things. This one leaves you with an actual skill and a room full of people who were all brave enough to show up alone and try something new.
