Sweet Prince | Strange Birds in Scranton Friday, October 2–Sunday, October 4, 2026 | Friday 7:30 PM; Saturday 9 PM; Sunday 3:30 PM Sweet Prince comes to Strange Birds in Scranton, PA, from Friday, October 2, through Sunday, October 4. Performances are Friday at 7:30 PM, Saturday at 9 PM and Sunday at 3:30 PM as part of the 2026 Scranton Fringe Festival. This one-woman, hour-long theatrical adaptation presents a pared-down version of Shakespeare’s Hamlet. The production uses the familiar tragedy to explore depression, grief and questions surrounding what it means to be considered “mad.” Audience participation also becomes part of the story. With many of Shakespeare’s original characters missing, Hamlet recruits audience members to step into roles and help tell this reimagined version of the play. Sweet Prince reimagines Hamlet through solo performance, audience participation and an exploration of grief and mental health in Scranton.
