About this event
We'll be reading and discussing the article *Supershrinks* by Scott Miller (on what makes master therapists) - leading psychotherapy researcher in the field of psychotherapy outcomes (pdf can be found [here](https://clinica.ispa.pt/sites/default/files/71._supershrinks_what_is_the_secret_of_their_success.pdf)) and thinking about the following questions: \- in your experience\, does Miller's description of master therapists align with good therapy that anyone who's attending has received? \- how does his understanding of expertise and feedback align or misalign with your own understanding of the process of learning\, development\, education\, and mastery? -The article suggests that most professionals overestimate their own competence and rarely have hard data to check that impression against. How might you find an honest "baseline" for something you do, professionally or personally? \- If greatness is "made\, not born\," and requires effortful\, often unrewarding practice plus honest feedback — why do you think so few people\, even talented ones\, actually pursue it?
