Summer Blockbuster Bingo – "The Goonies"

About this event

A group of young misfits live in the "Goon Docks" neighborhood of Astoria, Oregon--a neighborhood facing urban renewal and possible home foreclosures. They discover an old treasure map and set out on an adventure to find the long-lost fortune of One-Eyed Willy, a legendary 17th-century pirate, while being pursued by a family of criminals who are after the treasure as well. The Goonies is based on a story by Steven Spielberg and will bring viewers back to a 1980s movie world of unsupervised adventure, the triumph of the underdog, and no digital devices. This program is presented in partnership with the NWA Film Club. Registration is encouraged but not required.
