Sugarlips Shields!
@ SHOWTIMES: 7:30pm and 9:30pm. A native New Yorker, L’Tanya—affectionately known as Sugarlips—has been singing since childhood, her natural gift evident long before any formal training. Rooted in the church choir, where her powerful solos uplift congregations, she has carried that same soulful spirit to stages across the nation and beyond. Since relocating to Atlanta, she has performed with renowned artists, appeared in major theatrical productions including Work, Delayed but Not Denied, and Langston Hughes’ Tambourines to Glory, and currently portrays Aretha Franklin in Natural Woman—An Aretha Story. Her rich career includes performing with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, sharing the stage with legends like B.B. King, Stevie Wonder, and Little Richard during the Olympic Games, and touring with Sir Elton John as part of the Voice of Atlanta choir for his Peachtree Road album. Now leading her own R&B and jazz band and celebrating the release of her debut solo project Finally It’s Love, L’Tanya says simply, “I sing because I believe it’s what God sent me here to do—it’s my purpose.” Add to calendar Google Calendar iCalendar Outlook 365 Outlook Live
