ABOUT JD WARREN AND THE RUDIMENT JD Warren is a NYC based jazz group lead by husband and wife duo Jeremy & Dermel Warren. This group was formed in 2015 and has released an album June 1, 2016 titled “Jeremy Warren-I Can Do All Things” that has received “Most Highly Recommended” from critics such as Jazz Times, Improvijazzation Nation, All About Jazz, AXS, and many others. The Rudiment has performed in some of the top venues in the NYC area such as the Blue Note NYC, Minton’s Harlem, Club Bonafide, Cornelia St Café, and many more. The Rudiment performed at the 2016 Jazz at The Buckman Center in Memphis, TN; 2017 Katy Jazz Festival in Katy, TX (where they also put on masterclasses for high school/college students and held workshops for high school jazz bands); Jazz in the Park in Patterson, NJ for 3 years running; plus many more. They performed at the Made in New York Gala along side jazz greats Randy Brecker, Fransico Mela, and John Patituci. Drummer, Jeremy Warren, composes and arranges for the group while vocalist, Dermel Warren, handles the lyrical composition. J&D bring their deep Soul & Gospel roots mixed with NYC’s Hip-Hop & Jazz influences to create their own unique style. ABOUT BETTY CARTER Betty Carter developed a legendary reputation, along with Art Blakey, as one of the great mentors for young jazz musicians.
