About this event
Join the office of Council Member Virginia Maloney and the LES Ecology Center and to care for our urban forest canopy on the East Side! Trees clean our air, cool our streets, mitigate flooding, and much more! Help us take care of the trees by aerating soil, weeding, removing litter, and applying NYC-made compost and mulch. We will learn about the Urban Forest of NYC, including different types of trees found in the neighborhood, how to care for the soil, and what types of plants you may see growing in tree beds. All materials provided.
