St. Mark the Apostle

Personal veneration is available in the Chapel during the hour before the 11:30 a.m. Mass, offering quiet time for prayer and reflection. St. Mark the Evangelist’s feast day is on April 25. In honor of his life and witness, the National Shrine will bring his relic from the Apparition Oratory to the Apparition Chapel for veneration that day. All are welcome to attend and pray with this great Evangelist on his Feast Day! St. Mark is the author of the Gospel of Mark and a companion of St. Peter and St. Paul in the early Church. His Gospel is known for its vivid account of the life and ministry of Jesus Christ and has played a vital role in proclaiming the Good News throughout the world.
