Springfield Symphony Orchestra, Opening Night

About this event

We are excited to kick off a remarkable season on October 24th. We are thrilled to announce our 2026/27 Season: The Next Movement, a season unlike any other in our organization’s history. This year marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter as we embark on a public search for our next Music Director, inviting our community to be part of this once-in-a-generation moment. Throughout the season, you’ll experience extraordinary performances from world-class guest artists, Pops programming like you’ve never seen, and witness incredible candidates as they take the stage and help shape the future of the SSO. But The Next Movement is about more than finding our next Music Director. It’s about celebrating where we’ve been, embracing where we’re going, and creating unforgettable experiences that bring our community together through the power of live music. Join us for the 26/27 Season and be part of what comes next. Begin the season with an evening of powerful storytelling through music. From a captivating violin performance by Samuel Vargas to the sweeping beauty of Brahms’ Fourth Symphony, this concert explores remembrance, courage, and the voices that continue to inspire us. The violin soloist for this concert, Samuel Vargas, is being sponsored by the Dartmouth Class of 1968 in memory of classmate Ron Weiss.
