Spring Break Camp - Rock 101 Camp

Play Want to play in a band onstage? Our Rock 101 camp is designed for beginners 7 - 10 years of age. No experience necessary! Students will explore their instruments through musical games and activities. Students will learn songs by artists such as the White Stripes, Green Day and Imagine Dragons (song selection will vary by location). Our nurturing environment makes this the perfect camp for budding musicians. Students will work on songs Monday through Friday and the camp will culminate in a concert at the end of the week for family and friends. OPEN TO STUDENTS AGE 7 - 10 No Previous Experience Required MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY, 9:30AM - 3:30PM HERE IS WHAT A TYPICAL DAY OF CAMP LOOKS LIKE: Band members will be cast on songs and learn between 3 to 5 songs in just one week, depending on how much they can handle as a band. At the end of the week, the kids will perform a live rock concert on Friday afternoon for family and friends! The set list will be decided first thing Monday morning after students are introduced to each other and the staff. We will do our best to gauge what the kids are interested and what will help each of them progress the most as musicians. DAILY ACTIVITIES OUR CAMPERS WILL PARTAKE IN: Team building exercises, games, and trivia contests to learn about fellow "band mate" campers and our camp directors. Sectional by instrument to cover the fundamentals of playing music in a band setting. Workshops on various topics such as note values, blues improv, stagecraft, music theory, etc. Stage presence exercises. The end of camp culminates in a live performance at a local venue! Previous venues have included the Zephyr Theater or the Lounge on Melrose. UNLESS NOTIFIED OTHERWISE SHOWTIME ON FRIDAY WILL BE BETWEEN 2 & 2:30. Students will need to be picked up on friday no later than 1:45pm on Friday to be transported to the venue. STUDENTS MUST BRING AND WEAR HEARING PROTECTION AT ALL TIMES WITHIN OUR REHEARSAL ROOMS.
