Split Rock Reservoir

\~11.5 miles 1,600+' elevation moderate to brisk pace varied by terrain Don't let the miles and elevation fool you as this will be a very challenging hike due to rocks, mud, and a bit of overgrowth. Please check your skill level before attending. We start in the Wildcat Ridge WMA at the canoe launch off split rock road where there are no bathrooms. We will hike up the road a bit to the trailhead and then around the reservoir, briefly moving away from the water and then returning to ascend Indian Cliffs which is our lunch spot. After lunch, we'll descend back down to the water and hike around to the other side to Farny State Forest. Then we follow the reservoir with rolling hills that have a lot of ups and downs but very pretty views. This will take us back to the road and over a one lane bridge. Then we have an optional short excursion to see an old furnace. The trail is rough so sturdy footwear is recommended. Bring water, food, rain gear, and poles if you use them.
