South Dakota Stories from World War II Join the Mitchell Area Historical Society for a special presentation by Charles M. Rogers, author of South Dakota Stories from World War II, at the Carnegie Resource Center. Hear stories highlighting South Dakota’s connections to World War II and learn more about the people and experiences featured in Rogers’ book. A limited number of books will also be available for purchase. 📅 Date: Saturday, October 10, 2026 ⏰ Time: 2:00 PM 📍 Location: Carnegie Resource Center Mitchell, SD The VFW Chili Cook-Off will also be taking place in the parking lot behind the Carnegie from 12:00–4:00 PM, so make a day of it and enjoy both events! Wheelchair accessible entrance available on the east side of the building.
