About this event
Grab your aprons and get your appetite ready to learn even more about how to bake sourdough! Whether you are seasoned (pun intended) or baking is new, this event is for you. Erin Carroll, former professional baker and culinary school graduate, is back and will lead you through the basics of growing and maintaining your own sourdough starter. She will also cover how to create mouthwatering sourdough recipes, with samples! Bring your own small container to take home some sourdough starter of your own. No registration needed for this free event. Meet the baker: Erin Carroll, a Minocqua native, graduated from LUHS in 2010 before earning an Associate of Applied Science in Baking and Pastry at The Art Institute International Minnesota in Minneapolis. Erin has since honed her craft in a variety of professional kitchen environments. She worked at a small, 100% from-scratch bakery, laminating croissant and Danish dough entirely by hand; contributed to large-scale production at the Minneapolis Convention Center, serving plated desserts to events of up to 5,000 guests; collaborated with an executive chef to develop recipes and execute menu rollouts; and worked in the pastry department at Carleton College in Northfield, MN. She now lives in Eagle River with her husband and their two children. Erin is an avid home baker and an amazing tap instructor at Lynda Kronzer Dance Studio—two passions that often come together in her kitchen!
