SOS, JAW (Just Another Way)

"Just another way," a hike with no particular way to go on Red Spring Peak. We make it up as we go along, usually punctuated with "this looks like fun, let's go this way." In case of inclement weather, we may change from a hike to a breakfast event at BabyStacks. Same Old Scrambling is expected to be a mile or so; maybe a couple of miles, with an elevation gain of just over 700 feet to the Red Spring peak at 4,304 feet. Can't offer much more of a description. Hike: S.O.S. - J.A.W. – Closed loop Trailhead: Red Spring Park parking lot Distance: 2ish miles Elevation gain: 700 +/- feet Elevation peak: 4,304 feet Time: 2ish hours Class: 3 Pace: Slow to Moderate Children/Dogs: No Hydrate well before the hike with electrolytes, especially on hot summer days. You will need at least 1-2 liters of water in warm weather, snacks/lunch for the peak, sunscreen, hat/sunglasses, etc. Light colored cotton shirts are better for hot weather, bring layers for cool weather, oven mitts or gloves for the hot rocks on hot days. Please be aware that your Meetup organizers are not tour guides and are not park/BLM rangers. Expect the same risks and take the same precautions you would take if you were hiking alone.
