About this event
For the first time at SOR Bellevue, we’ll be celebrating the music of Deftones, known as one of the most unique-sounding bands of the Nu-Metal era. Often dubbed “the Radiohead of metal”, the band is known for blending elements of dreampop and shoegaze with heavy metal instrumentation. After the release of 1997’s Around the Fur, songs like “My Own Summer (Shove It)” and “Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)” rocketed up the charts and cemented their place among the most revered acts of the 1990s and early 2000s. Rather than recycling familiar sounds and songwriting processes, Deftones continued to evolve by adding turn-tableist Frank Delgado to the band; his influence can be heard on 2006’s Saturday Night Wrist, 2010’s Diamond Eyes, and 2012’s Koi No Yokan. Thanks to the rise of TikTok and the release of 2025’s Private Music, the band has enjoyed a resurgence and has garnered a new generation of fans. Students will receive tickets in a promo pack. Additional Tickets may be purchased at the door.
