Skwhirl

SKWHIRL is the for-credit student rock band from the University of Minnesota School of Music. Formed in January 2025 and directed by Del Lyren, the band performs a wide-ranging repertoire spanning classic rock, alternative, funk, and pop. Their sets feature music by artists such as Journey, Paramore, Nirvana, Prince, Stevie Wonder, No Doubt, and more. SKWHIRL has collaborated with Chad Smith, Rissi Palmer, and maintains an ongoing residency with Cory Wong, giving students real-world professional performance experience in a high-energy, audience-driven setting.
