From September 24–26, Villa Albertine Chicago and MAS Context will present a three-day public symposium on architecture in Chicago, bringing together leading voices to explore the future of sustainable architecture. Experimental Station is excited to host the symposium on Friday, September 25, at our space. Supported by Saint-Gobain, a global leader in light and sustainable construction, the symposium will bring together more than 35 architects, landscape architects, urban planners, curators, artists, scientists, researchers, philosophers, industry partners, and other experts for French–U.S. exchanges around three key themes: innovative adaptation, civic change-making, and flourishing environments. Each day of the symposium will take place at a different Chicago venue: IIT College of Architecture, Experimental Station, and the Chicago Architecture Center, featuring short talks, public Q&A sessions, and guided tours. Day 1 → Thursday, September 24 — Innovative Adaptation Panel and Campus Tour Location: S.R. Crown Hall, designed by Mies van der Rohe and located on the campus of the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago’s Bronzeville neighborhood. Register / Day 1 details Day 2 → Friday, September 25 — Civic Changemaking Panel and Tour of the Obama Center Location: Experimental Station, located on Chicago’s South Side, followed by a tour of the Obama Presidential Center (museum admission not included). Register / Day 2 details Day 3 → Saturday, September 26 — Flourishing Environments Panel, exhibitions, and reception Location: Chicago Architecture Center, located on the Chicago River in a Mies van der Rohe-designed building.
