About this event

Shane Sato Shane Sato is a Japanese-American multi-instrumentalist, producer & songwriter based in Los Angeles who leads an ensemble of LA's finest musicians from behind his drums. Shane is a proud alumnus from UCSB, and is excited to return to the SOhO stage to perform in the beautiful city he once called home. Currently releasing music independently, Shane has amassed over 4 million streams across his catalogue, with multiple tracks featured on Spotify playlists such as Fresh Finds Jazz, Morning Rhythm, & Jazzy Beats. In May 2026, Shane released his sophomore solo album, Wavelength, which explores a palette that moves between jazz, indie, & soul, and features collaborations with artists such as Braxton Cook, Reuben James, and Nao Yoshioka. Looking ahead, Shane is planning a tour up the west coast in the fall to promote the album in new cities. DreamHoppers Dreamhoppers is a lo-fi jazz hip-hop duo from Santa Barbara, California, consisting of guitarist and executive producer Dom Lawrence and trumpeter and co-producer Miles Julian. Rooted in a mutual love for jazz, particularly bossa nova, and hip-hop, their music fuses expressive jazz melodies with laid-back hip-hop grooves, drawing inspiration from bossa nova legends such as Antônio Carlos Jobim and João Gilberto, classic soul and R&B, and contemporary artists such as Tom Misch, Khruangbin, and Men I Trust. Val-Mar Records Val-Mar Records seeks to keep the spirit and sonics of vinyl records alive through limited edition pressings and DJ sets around the coast, LA and beyond, bringing back curated finds from our travels. Sets are eclectic and are serenaded with retro soul, nu-disco delights, electronic harmonies, and dance stompers, featuring sounds from near and far, including brazilian and african music. Blending the familiar (Jungle, Bee Gees, Durand Jones and Disclosure) with the fresh (underground and international artists), we give new music a touch of vintage nostalgia, and all are welcome to the party.
