Shake It Up! Engineering Earthquake Resistant Buildings

About this event

Earthquake engineering is the design, development, and production of earthquake-resistant structures. In this class, students will build a shake table and investigate the effects of lateral movement on structures. We will use the engineering process to create models of earthquake-resistant designs and test them out on their shake table. All supplies for class are included in your specially curated kit available for pick up the week before the session begins. This program runs four Mondays 10:30-12:00 from January 25th through February 22 (no class February 15).
