About this event

Do you have favorite T-shirts tucked away in drawers or packed in a closet because they're too meaningful to part with? Turn those treasured memories into a beautiful keepsake! In this class, you'll learn the basics of creating a T-shirt quilt that lets you preserve your favorite moments while making something you can enjoy for years to come. Students are responsible for bringing all required materials. Class Duration: 2.5 hours each class Age Requirements: Adult 18 and up Recommended Prerequisite: Sewing - Introduction to the Sewing Machine. All attendees are required to know how to sew. Required Skills: Someone who can sew straight and curved seams while keeping a consistent seam allowance, can thread a standard machine and wind a bobbin, has a basic understanding of different fabric types and has completed several projects. Materials Fee: None Out of District Fee: $10 (includes class and materials fees) Materials: Students are responsible for bringing all required materials. 2 1/2 to 3 yards of fabric for backing, this can be purchased after the first class. 3 yards of lightweight interfacing: Pellon SF101 Shape-Flex or T-shirt Stabilizer Ask store representative for other options. Bring 12 prewashed adult size large logo t-shirts for best results. Note: All t-shirt logos will be cut down to 12 ½” squares during class. Avoid pre cutting. Batting estimated 2 1/2 to 3 yards. This can be purchased after the frist class. Note: Sewing skills are necessary to be successful in this class. New to sewing? Take Introduction to the Sewing Machine prior to attending this class. Level Description Beginner Someone has used a sewing machine before but may need aid on threading the machine and may need additional practice keeping an even seam allowance. Confident Beginner Someone who can sew straight and curved seams while keeping a consistent seam allowance, can thread a standard machine and wind a bobbin, has a basic understanding of different fabric types…
