Class Duration: 2 hours, 2 Parts Age Requirements: 13-Adult with completed Sewing Lab Waiver, 11-12 with supervising adult and completed Sewing Lab Waiver Recommended Prerequisite: Sewing - Introduction to the Sewing Machine Required Skills: Someone who can sew straight and curved seams while keeping a consistent seam allowance, can thread a standard machine and wind a bobbin, has a basic understanding of different fabric types and has completed several projects. Materials Fee: None Out of District Fee: $10 (includes class and materials fees) Note: Fabric is provided for your first class from a limited selection. If you choose to attend this class more than once, please reference the materials list below and bring fabric for your class. Materials: Students may bring the following materials to complete the project: Recommended Fabrics: Cotton Blends, Cotton Shirting. Designed for medium-weight woven fabrics. 16" tall x 15" wide fabric for outside. 16" tall x 15" wide fabric for inside lining. 9" tall x 15" wide fabric for needle pocket OR 6 tall x 15 wide fabric for hook pocket. 30" fabric ribbon or two 15" x 1 3/4" strips of fabric. Level Description Beginner Someone has used a sewing machine before but may need aid on threading the machine and may need additional practice keeping an even seam allowance.
