Come stitch up your very own bucket hat! In this class, you’ll learn how to turn flat fabric into a fabulous, wearable conversation piece. We’re talking shade, style, and the power to say, “Oh this? I made it myself.” Bring your sense of humor, your love of hats (or your dislike of sunburns), and some super cool cotton fabric. You’ll leave with a one-of-a-kind creation that’s part fashion statement, part life skill, and 100% fun. Seats (and heads) are limited—grab your spot before they’re gone! Class Duration: 2.5 hours, 5 (Parts) Age Requirements: Adult, 18 and up. Recommended Prerequisite: Introduction to the Sewing Machine Required Skills: Someone who is comfortable with working and threading sewing machines, sewing patterns with markings and notations, has an understanding of fabric types and interfacing, and has experience with using a variety of tools, notions, and presser feet. Required Materials: Students must bring the following materials to complete the project: Recommended Fabrics: Cotton Blends, Cotton Shirting, Cotton Lawn, Challis, Polished Cotton. Designed for medium-weight woven fabrics. 1/2 Yard of Two different print cotton fabrics as the hat is reversable. 1 - Yard of fusible fleece Note: Machine sewing skills are necessary to be successful in this class. Level Description Beginner Someone has used a sewing machine before but may need aid on threading the machine and may need additional practice keeping an even seam allowance. Confident Beginner Someone who can sew straight and curved seams while keeping a consistent seam allowance, can thread a standard machine and wind a bobbin, has a basic understanding of different fabric types and has completed several projects.
