We'll follow Forest Hill Avenue east to 41st Street where we will enter [Forest Hill Park](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forest_Hill_Park_(Richmond,_Virginia)), following Reedy Creek to the [Reedy Creek Landing](https://jamesriverpark.org/explore-the-park-reedy-creek/). Here we will pick up the Buttermilk Trail and follow it to the [Boulevard](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boulevard_Bridge) (aka Nickel) Bridge. No river crossing today as we now turn South and follow Westover Hills Boulevard back through civilization to Forest Hill Avenue! This is a hike of approximately 3.6 miles over woodland trails, paved surfaces and stairways. Treking poles are encouraged. The Buttermilk Trail is steep in places and some of the footing is covered with grit that can be unexpectedly slippery, **and** there are three minor stream crossings where hiking sticks come in handy for…
