SEL StoryMakers: Story-based Maker Program for Grades K-3 (w/ adult)

Children's Program Room. StoryMakers celebrates all abilities, voices, and forms of self-expression, encouraging kids to engage with books, the world, and each other in their own unique way. Calling all makers, creators, and imaginators! Join us for a program for kids in grades K-3 with their caregivers that combines storytime, playing, and making! Bring along your creativity, curiosity, and ideas as we try out different ways of playing and storytelling. We’ll enjoy a read aloud before exploring different maker stations (including the kid-favorite cardboard creation station) where children can play, tinker, create, and share their own stories. This program is one in a 6-part SEL (social-emotional learning) series, running every third Wednesday from Oct. 2026 - Mar. 2027. The first month focuses broadly on SEL, with each subsequent month focusing more specifically on one of the CASEL 5 competencies: (1) self-awareness, (2) self-management, (3) social awareness, (4) relationship skills, (5) responsible decision-making. **You do not need to attend each session to participate. Sessions do not build on each other--they are standalone events. Attend one, all, or whichever event(s) work with your schedule. We're always happy to see you!** REGISTRATION REQUIRED You must register each child separately to reserve each individual spot (i.e. one child per registration form). Please note in the registration form if your child has any allergies or accessibility needs. This is a family program for children in grades K-3 with their adult caregivers. Adults must remain with their child(ren).
