About this event
New Milford Public Library. Monday, October 19 | 11am (Library Closed October 12, 2026) Join us this month as we dive into “Mexican Gothic” by Silvia Moreno-Garcia, a deliciously eerie, slow-burn psychological thriller set in 1950s Mexico. When glamorous, sharp-witted debutante Noemí Taboada receives a frantic, disturbing letter from her newlywed cousin, she rushes to an isolated mansion in the mountains. What she finds is a decaying estate, a chillingly eccentric family, and a house harboring a dark, terrifying secret that threatens to trap her forever. Part gothic horror, part historical mystery, this atmosphere-drenched bestseller is packed with twisty secrets, haunted family legacies, and plenty of brilliant discussion topics.
