About this event

Science is often seen as the pinnacle of knowledge within our society. Science presents itself as adding information bit by bit and creating a solid edifice. Thomas Kuhn, one of the most influential philosophers of the twentieth century, challenges this view arguing that a field of science is defined by a group of experts with beliefs known as paradigms that on occasion go through radical shifts. It is argued by those who have read his work whether these revolutions can be rational or more of a leap of faith. It is also debated whether, if he is correct, this leaves us with a vision of science that can allow us to have knowledge, solve problems only, or be leave us is a relativistic morass. Join us to discuss his momentous work, *The Structure of Scientific Revolutions*.
