ALAMOGORDO, N.M. — The New Mexico Museum of Space History invites families to get hands-on with lunar science during Science Saturday: Phases of the Moon on Saturday, September 26, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This family-friendly activity will use interactive 3D-printed lunar crater puzzles to help visitors explore the Moon’s surface and better understand the phases of the Moon. Participants can examine, handle, and assemble detailed pieces that bring the Moon’s craters and features into reach. Come check out—and touch—the Moon. No, really. Come touch the Moon. Museum education staff will be available to guide participants through the activity and share approachable, space-themed learning for school-aged children and their families. This is a come-and-go program, so visitors may participate at their own pace during the event.
