About this event
Come explore science with fun activities and hands-on experiments! Each program will teach a different concept. This is geared towards children in kindergarten through second grade. Parents are welcome to stay, or drop off their child but remain in the building. Please register for each date individually. SEPT: 9/8 Solar Energy – We will harness sunlight to create solar art using special sun print paper, then make sundials to track how shadows move throughout the day. 9/22 Density – Discover density and buoyancy by making your own "discovery water bottle." We will drop in everyday objects to see which ones sink and which ones float! OCT: 10/13 Solubility – Can oil and water ever be friends? We will explore the rules of solubility by mixing water-based paints with oils to see how they interact. 10/27 Melting Point – Come explore the hidden boundary between solid and liquid by investigating the melting point of water.
