About this event

The Save Texas History Symposium is an annual gathering organized by the Texas General Land Office that brings together historians, educators, students, and community leaders to explore Texas' past. The 2026 theme, “A Lone Star Among Many: Texas and the Making of America,” highlights the dynamic relationship between Texas and the nation. Held November 13–14 at the Bullock Texas State History Museum in Austin, the event includes presentations from leading Texas scholars, a student research showcase featuring emerging scholars, and opportunities for public engagement to explore Texas history and its impact on the broader American story. The event also includes a reception featuring J. B. Sauceda, executive producer of Texas Country Reporter, available as an add-on ticket purchase. Symposium tickets include admission to the Bullock Museum exhibits.
