About this event
Sashiko, the much beloved Japanese embroidery, includes a variety of techniques formed with running stitches. In this class, Sanae Ishida will cover the basics of Sashiko stitching, which is rooted in mending and can add beauty to sewing projects of all kind – from clothing to household objects. Sanae Ishida writes, draws, sews and takes photos almost every day. Based in Seattle, Washington, she is the author and illustrator of many books, including the Sanae Ishida Sews series and Little Kunoichi, The Ninja Girl series.
